Writer: Princeton MortgagePrinceton Mortgage

For Greg Daniels, helping veterans achieve homeownership isn’t just a job—it’s a personal mission. As a Sales Manager at Princeton Mortgage, Greg brings decades of experience in the mortgage industry, but his dedication to serving military families runs even deeper. A Veteran himself, Greg understands the unique challenges that service members face when purchasing a home, and he works tirelessly to ensure they have the best possible experience.

Princeton Mortgage shares this commitment by prioritizing innovative solutions, flexible underwriting, and client-first service. Through teamwork and a problem-solving mindset, Princeton strives to help buyers—even those facing difficult loan situations—achieve their homeownership goals.

Overcoming Loan Challenges: Greg’s Recent Wins

Greg has built a reputation for stepping in when other lenders can’t get the job done. One of his recent success stories involved closing a VA loan in just 18 days after the borrower’s original lender failed to approve it.

“A realtor reached out to me because his clients were under contract but had been denied by another lender due to an income interpretation issue,” Greg recalls. “I consulted with our Underwriter, confirmed that we could get it done, and then moved forward with the application. Even though Princeton was brought in late in the game, we closed on time.”

This wasn’t a one-time occurrence. Greg is currently working on another VA loan with a similar situation, proving time and time again that the right expertise and approach can turn challenging scenarios into success stories.

Understanding the Stress of Loan Denials

For buyers, a loan denial can be a devastating experience. Greg understands the emotional and logistical toll it takes on families, especially military members who may already be facing transitions or relocations.

“There’s nothing more stressful than setting your heart on a home, getting under contract, and then suddenly being told you can’t secure financing,” Greg explains. “It’s jarring. People immediately start worrying—Where will I live? What’s next?”

What sets Princeton Mortgage apart is its ability to find solutions for its clients. While mortgage underwriting is often seen as “rigid” or “black-and-white", Greg values working with a team that considers the full picture and looks for the “yes/how can I make this work” in its approach.

“Our Underwriters don’t just follow a checklist,” he says. “They take the time to truly evaluate each borrower’s situation and find solutions where others might not.”

Greg’s Personal Connection to the Military Community

Greg’s passion for helping veterans stems from his own experience. Having served in the Air Force and coming from a military family, he understands both the challenges and opportunities that come with VA home loans.

“I grew up in a military household—my father, stepfather, sister, grandfather… we all served,” he says. “After leaving the military in the late ’90s, I found my way into the mortgage business, and VA loans became my specialty. It’s my way of continuing to serve.”

For Greg, a home is more than just a financial investment, it’s the foundation for a family’s future. That’s why he approaches every loan with meticulous attention to detail, a commitment to excellence, and a determination to create lasting relationships with his clients.

Making Homeownership a Reality for Veterans

Greg Daniels and Princeton Mortgage are proving that home financing doesn’t have to be a stressful or uncertain process—especially for Veterans. VA loans offer incredible benefits designed to make homeownership more accessible and affordable for eligible service members and Veterans.

With a VA loan, eligible buyers can take advantage of:

  • Little to No Down Payment Required – VA loans allow qualified borrowers to finance up to 100% of the home’s value, eliminating the need for a large down payment.

  • No First-Time Buyer Requirement Your Benefit Can Be Used More Than Once. A common misconception is that VA loans are a one-time benefit -- but in reality, they can be used multiple times throughout a veteran’s lifetime. Including refinances!

  • Gift Funds – If a Veteran does need help with closing costs or their down payment, he or she can receive financial assistance from family or other eligible sources.

  • Limits on Closing Costs – The VA places restrictions on the types of closing costs lenders can charge, ensuring Veterans get a fair deal.

  • No Prepayment Penalties – Veterans can pay off their loan early or make extra payments without worrying about prepayment fees.

These benefits, combined with the expertise and commitment of professionals like Greg, make homeownership a reality for countless military families. Princeton Mortgage takes pride in working with Veterans, ensuring they fully understand their options and receive the best loan solutions for their unique situations.

For military families looking for guidance in their homebuying journey, Greg Daniels is more than a loan officer—he’s a trusted advocate (and Veteran!) who understands their needs and works relentlessly to help them achieve their dream of homeownership.
